Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 8.9% compared to 2019, reaching 44.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 37.4%.

Germany ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 43.2% (from 30.9% in 2015).
