Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 8.9% compared to 2019, reaching 38.1%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 37.4%.

Italy ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.8% (from 33.5% in 2015).
