At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Germany's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 7.6% compared to 2023, reaching 15.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.2%.

Germany ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.7% (from 14.8% in 2019).
