Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.5% compared to 2015, reaching 32.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 30.2%.

Germany ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 54.2% (from 20.9% in 2011).
