Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Netherlands's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 13.7% compared to 2015, reaching 12.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 30.2%.

Netherlands ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 28.9% (from 9.7% in 2011).
