Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 1.1% compared to 2020, reaching 19.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Germany ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 29.7% (from 14.9% in 2016).
