Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2020, Hungary's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 21.1% compared to 2019, reaching 78.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 89.5%.

Hungary ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.0% (from 75.7% in 2015).
