Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2020, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 21.7% compared to 2019, reaching 58.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 89.5%.

Slovakia ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.2% (from 51.6% in 2015).
