At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2022, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 3.0% compared to 2021, reaching 13.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 17.4%.

Ireland ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 15.8% (from 16.5% in 2017).
