At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 3.3% compared to 2023, reaching 12.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.9%.

Ireland ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.7% (from 13.5% in 2019).
