Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 3.6% compared to 2020, reaching 37.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Ireland ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 39.1% (from 27.1% in 2016).
