Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Germany's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 0.6% compared to 2020, reaching 44.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Germany ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 36.2% (from 32.3% in 2016).
