Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Portugal's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 0.7% compared to 2020, reaching 58.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Portugal ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.2% (from 54.0% in 2016).
