Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 34.9% compared to 2019, reaching 16.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 22.0%.

Ireland ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 77.9% (from 9.1% in 2015).
