Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2021, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 19.9% compared to 2020, reaching 12.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.9%.

Ireland ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 40.9% (from 9.2% in 2016).
