Police-recorded offences by offence category

In 2016, Ireland's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 29.7% compared to 2015, reaching 18,082.

Ireland ranks 14th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 35.9% (from 28,190 in 2011).
