Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2021, Ireland's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 7.6% compared to 2020, reaching 14.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.7%.

Ireland ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.1% (from 16.8% in 2016).
