Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Italy's employment rates by citizenship increased by 1.0% compared to 2023, reaching 71.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.3%.

Italy ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.4% (from 68.1% in 2019).
