Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 2.2% compared to 2018, reaching 18.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.9%.

Italy ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.4% (from 17.1% in 2014).
