Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2018, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 2.6% compared to 2017, reaching 17.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.1%.

Italy ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.3% (from 16.7% in 2013).
