Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Italy's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 14.0% compared to 2015, reaching 7.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 7.2%.

Italy ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 46.5% (from 5.1% in 2011).
