Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Portugal's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 2.9% compared to 2015, reaching 7.6%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 7.2%.

Portugal ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1000.3% (from 0.7% in 2011).
