Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Latvia's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 3.7% compared to 2018, reaching 4.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.8%.

Latvia ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 11.8% (from 4.1% in 2014).
