Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 24.1% compared to 2018, reaching 8.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 8.8%.

Ireland ranks 8th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 71.3% (from 5.2% in 2014).
