At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2025, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 12.2% compared to 2024, reaching 20.8%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Malta ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.0% (from 20.4% in 2020).
