In 2025, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 0.0% compared to 2024, reaching 23.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.6%.

Italy ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.6% (from 25.1% in 2020).
