Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 26.8% compared to 2019, reaching 9.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.4%.

Malta ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 120.1% (from 4.3% in 2015).
