Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2020, Austria's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.2% compared to 2019, reaching 78.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 37.4%.

Austria ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.4% (from 71.5% in 2015).
