Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.0% compared to 2018, reaching 8.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.9%.

Malta ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 73.5% (from 4.7% in 2014).
