Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2018, Malta's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 9.6% compared to 2017, reaching 7.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.1%.

Malta ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 110.5% (from 3.8% in 2013).
