Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2019, Malta's unemployment by sex and age increased by 2.5% compared to 2018, reaching 4.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 6.8%.

Malta ranks 23rd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 28.1% (from 5.7% in 2014).
