Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2016, Romania's share of energy from renewable sources decreased by 1.0% compared to 2015, reaching 42.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 30.2%.

Romania ranks 7th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 37.2% (from 31.1% in 2011).
