In 1999, Poland's fertility indicators decreased by 4.9% compared to 1998, reaching 1.37.

Poland ranks 13th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 24.3% (from 1.81 in 1994).
