At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 11.9% compared to 2022, reaching 20.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.5%.

Portugal ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 8.9% (from 19.0% in 2018).
