At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 2.8% compared to 2022, reaching 24.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 19.5%.

Italy ranks 4th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 5.7% (from 26.2% in 2018).
