At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2023, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 1.9% compared to 2022, reaching 16.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.4%.

Portugal ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.4% (from 16.6% in 2018).
