At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2024, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 4.9% compared to 2023, reaching 15.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 15.5%.

Portugal ranks 11th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.2% (from 16.6% in 2019).
