At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 2.4% compared to 2022, reaching 21.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.4%.

Romania ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 5.3% (from 22.5% in 2018).
