Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Portugal's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.8% compared to 2023, reaching 75.3%.

The figure is in line with the EU-27 average of 75.3%.

Portugal ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.4% (from 73.5% in 2019).
