Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2025, Portugal's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group decreased by 3.0% compared to 2024, reaching 71.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 68.5%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.9% (from 77.3% in 2020).
