Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2024, Portugal's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group decreased by 3.4% compared to 2023, reaching 73.4%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 68.4%.

Portugal ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.7% (from 73.9% in 2019).
