At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2022, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 11.4% compared to 2021, reaching 19.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 17.3%.

Romania ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.5% (from 20.0% in 2017).
