At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2025, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 5.5% compared to 2024, reaching 15.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.3%.

Romania ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 36.7% (from 24.5% in 2020).
