At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2024, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 6.5% compared to 2023, reaching 16.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Romania ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 34.7% (from 25.1% in 2019).
