At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2024, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 11.3% compared to 2023, reaching 18.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 15.5%.

Romania ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 16.7% (from 22.7% in 2019).
