Employment rates by citizenship

In 2024, Romania's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.4% compared to 2023, reaching 72.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 75.3%.

Romania ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 3.5% (from 74.6% in 2019).
