In 2014, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 161.2% compared to 2013, reaching 51,116.

Romania ranks 10th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 341.6% (from 11,574 in 2009).
