Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2021, Romania's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 8.2% compared to 2020, reaching 5.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 7.1%.

Romania ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 22.2% (from 7.2% in 2016).
