Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2007, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 3.5% compared to 2006, reaching 30.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 62.4%.

Slovakia ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 33.3% (from 45.6% in 2002).
