Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2019, Spain's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 4.9% compared to 2018, reaching 17.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 19.9%.

Spain ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 12.4% (from 15.9% in 2014).
